Hi loves!
Today, I’ll share with you how you can make affirmations work for you.
I’m all about affirmations. I love bombarding my mind with positive words that will disrupt my constant negative thoughts. As a result, affirmations helped me manifest a lot of amazing things in my life, including my healing from Complex PTSD (that’s without therapy).
If you’re not familiar with affirmations, affirmations are positive words and sentences that help you disrupt your negative thinking so you can create better thought patterns. They’re great tools in reprogramming your subconscious mind so you can align your mindset for success. It’s one of my favorite manifesting tools.
But before I learned to love affirmations, they used to really frustrate me. Why? Because I couldn’t make them work.
So, what would happen is I’d repeat certain affirmations over and over again, every morning and night for 3 days max, then I’ll stop. I would say words like “I am worthy, I am rich” but I’ll develop so much resistance from continuing because my mind just couldn’t accept the new thoughts. She was like telling me “No, you are definitely not. Stop lying to yourself!”
Do you struggle with affirmations too? Is your brain not accepting what you’re trying to implant? If yes, then keep reading.
Why affirmations don’t work
Most people speak affirmations and expect them to work immediately. But when you do this, when you’re only speaking affirmations, your words are only reaching your conscious mind.
For affirmations to work for you, you gotta reach your subconscious mind. So how do you make affirmations do that? Here’s how:
Before affirming, release what’s blocking the new thoughts.
Here’s the thing. You cannot pour more water to the cup if your cup is full – and it’s much even harder to do if the cup is filled with oil. That’s the same with your subconscious mind. If you put 2 very opposing beliefs, it’s gonna be a challenge for them to co-exist.
So what you gotta do is to remove the oil so you have space for the water. Release your negative thoughts and limiting beliefs. Do meditation, forgiveness work and EFT to let go of that negative energy that’s keeping you blocked. This way, you create space for planting new positive thought seeds.
Make sure you create the vibes.
And to do this, you have to feel the emotion the affirmation represents. It’s not enough that you only speak it. You have to feel it in your body. You have to feel your body creating the energy of the thought that you are affirming. Manifesting is all about attracting to you things with the same vibration as yours. If you feel and vibrate in alignment with the thoughts that you are affirming, you’re definitely attracting them to you fast.
Commit to being consistent in doing your affirmations.
Being consistent in doing your affirmations might look like a lot of work, but if you really think about it, it’s not. I mean, really think about it. All you gotta do is to affirm for 10 minutes every morning and night. What’s so hard about that?
What’s making it so much complicated is the resistance that you’re feeling from doing it – resistance that comes from your deeper inner issues you have. But if you work through those resistance, it’s gonna be a lot easier. What you can do is to use affirmations to help you release resistance from affirming. Yes, you can totally do that.
I always look forward to speaking affirmations every morning and night.
I release all my resistance to affirming.
I let go of my old programming and welcome a new mindset.
I am very consistent in doing my affirmations.
Try it. It works.
Create a schedule for affirming or manifesting, and stick to it.
Doesn’t matter if it’s 10 mins to 1 hour a day. As long as you make time for it and you make it a priority like brushing your teeth and taking a bath, it’ll work. I’m sure you’re aware that mindset is really everything that’s gonna shape your world. So if you got time for other stuff, but no time for manifesting, then you got some re-prioritizing to do, hun. I’m sure that this isn’t gonna be a problem for you, because I know you’re committed to creating your ideal reality.
Having done these tips, affirmations became my best friends. Everyday, I look forward to affirming and planting new beliefs in my subconscious. I’m totally addicted.
So here’s how I do affirmations recently:
I have 5 focus affirmations every month so I can program 5 new beliefs (that’s 60 new beliefs in one year – yezz I plan on becoming a totally new person). I repeat these 5 affirmations over and over again every morning and night.
I have a list of go-to affirmations for specific recurring circumstances, like when I’m having a creative block, experiencing resistance or worrying about something.
I play subliminal affirmations when working. (Placebo or not, it’s okay for me).
I have an affirmation list in my planner that I go to sometimes when I crave for some high-vibes.
I have wall print affirmations on my wall that constantly remind me of what’s amazing in life.
I use affirmations as my password, and I have post-it notes on my phone and desktop with an affirmation written on it.
I play my playlist of high-vibe affirmation songs.
Yup. I’m totally overdoing affirmations.
The affirmations I use depend on my current needs. I customize them and make sure they’re in alignment with my current circumstances. If you’re very much aware of what your current sabotages are, it’ll be easy to formulate the right affirmations.
Here are my the affirmations that I’ve been using lately:
I matter. What I say matters. Who I am matters. – This counters my worthiness issues and beliefs that I cultivated from my past experiences.
Making money is such a fun game. Money is easy to earn. I am a magnet for money. – Counters my belief that I have to work REALLY hard to earn money. Can you relate to this belief?
It’s safe for me to be happy and abundant in all areas of my life. – Helps me deal when I’m getting too happy and start self-sabotaging.
I am a powerful woman. I am the Source in human form. – This helps me reconnect to my true power. I’m really reclaiming my full power this year, so this is one of my priority affirmations.
Try incorporating affirmations in your daily life. It will definitely shift your energy and will help you magnet more high-vibe things. Affirmations work, and if you’re patient enough to keep doing the work, you’ll definitely see results.
So tell me, what new beliefs and thought patterns do you need to have so you can align your vibe to your ideal reality?
